Take a full-screen screenshot on Mac
If you want to take a full screenshot on Mac, which includes even the top menu and other tools, just hit the Command + Shift + 3 keys.
To take the screenshot of selected portion of screen
To capture the selected portion of the screen first of you need to press the ‘Command + Shift + 4’ keys together. When you see the cropping tools, release the keys. Now drag the sides to adjust the screen selection. After doing the selection, release the mouse selection.
Take a screenshot of any open window
If you just want to capture an open Windows on Mac, just use the Command + Shift + 4 keys. As soon as you see the selection cursor, release the keys.
Now press the space bar and drag the camera icon to the window you want to capture.

How to take a screenshot on Mac using the Preview App
To take a screenshot using the Preview app, first of all, you need to go to the Launchpad and choose the Finder option.
Now open Applications and then the Preview app on Mac.
Next, choose the File option from the top menu and click on the ‘Take Screenshot’ option.
Finally, choose one of the options given there.
How to take a screenshot on Mac and save it in the clipboard
By default when you take a screenshot on Mac, it is saved on the dock or any other location set by you. But what if you want to capture the screenshot and keep it on Mac’s universal keyboard? There is a method for this too! The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard and not saved anywhere.
First of all, you need to long-press the Control key along with all the above methods explained above. For instance, if you want to capture a full screenshot and also copy it to the clipboard instead of saving it, just use the ‘Command + Shift + Control + 3’ instead of the ‘Command + Shift + 3’ key.
Similarly, to copy the screenshot in the clipboard of captured a part of the screen using the ‘Command + Shift + Control + 4’ shortcut key.
Likewise, you can also use the shortcut ‘Command + Shift + 5’ to capture the screenshot and also press the Control button together with the screenshot to save it to the clipboard.
Capture a screenshot on MacBook Pro using its Touch Bar
It is also possible to capture the screenshot using the Mac’s TouchBar. But to do it you first need to assign a screenshot button to the Touchbar. This is what you need to do:
Tap the Apple logo and choose System Preferences.
Now choose the Extensions and then Touch Bar.
Now open the Customize Control Strip and move the screen capture icon below the TouchBar. After putting it in the right position, click the Done button.
Now whenever you have to capture the screenshot using the TouchBar, all you need to do is to press the Camera icon in the Touchbar.
